Change Your Thinking

What are your dreams?

Do you have any?

Some of us have big dreams but do not go after them. Why? Did you know that your dreams are possible? Anything you want in life you can have if you believe and have faith. Have faith that the Universe will provide for all your needs and wants. Some people have dreams but think that things are "impossible". I think a negative person invented the word "impossible". Who's to say that something is impossible? Where there's a will, there's a way. It's as simple as that.

Let's Get A Little Political

I haven't watched the news for a couple weeks. Hearing about the situation in the Middle East is draining! I heard through the grapevine that the U.S. has plans to attack Iran now. My theory is that they are trying to weaken that whole region so that they can take over ("they" meaning the U.S.). "Fighting for Freedom" is a big illusion. We don't need to fight to be free. Freedom is a state of mind.

Frankly, I do not support the troops being over there. With dad being in the military, I grew up thinking that war was OK. I was young and didn't know or really care to know what was going on in the world. But NOW.... I'm disgusted with all that is going on. I know that there are many, many unfavorable collaborations happening behind closed doors. There are so many things that we do not know. I pray that the truth keeps coming out. Michael Moore did great with Fahrenheit 9/11.

Revolutionized Soul

"Everything you want is out there waiting for you to ask. Everything you want also wants you. But you have to take action to get it. "
--Jack Canfield

I have been away for a few days -- I have revolutionized the way I think, act, and talk. Life has taken a 180 degree turn. Just you wait and see!!!

Motivation?

I woke this morning feeling very unmotivated. I sat up, said a little prayer, and pulled myself out of bed after debating whether or not to call in sick. I made it to work somehow and was moving like a snail. Why was I feeling this way? I got almost 8 hours of sleep! In retrospect, it may have been feelings of despair. What can I do to make my life better? What am I supposed to be doing?

On the way home I stopped by Borders to find a motivating book to read. I knew that if I went home I would just crawl in bed and watch TV all day. I came across this book, "The Bounty Of Allah" by Aneela Khalid Arshed and read this quote:

"Do not lose hope in adversity and complain that God singled you out for punishment, remitting others guilty of worse sins. Your present state could very well be His intent to elevate your spiritual station or He could just be testing your faith. Every day that you perservere, you grow closer to perfection. Thus your present despair may be the beginning of an infinite blessing." -- Sheikh Abdul Quadir Jillani

It was very comforting to read this quote. I went on to browse through some books in the Business section and went home full of motivation, hope, and inspiration.

The Word of the Day....ACTION

You see, in life, lots of people know what to do, but few people actually do what they know. Knowing is not enough! You must take action.::: Tony Robbins :::

This quote reminds me that I need to take action on my plan for real estate investing. For years now I've been reading on the subject, but still have not taken any action! Would I already be the millionaire that I dream of being had I taken action a few years ago? I don't know what I'm waiting for. Maybe I need to plan what I will be doing with the money first?

Speaking of "knowing" and "action"....We all have knowledge - it's what you do with the knowledge is the big test. This year I am going to make use of my talents and gifts to give back to the community and to teach others. What will you do?

Life Works Out

" Never forget who you are and where you come from or you will never arrive at where you want to be."
--Mary Medico

It's been a long road to where I am right now. I look back to ten years ago when I was in an abusive relationship and life did not seem worth living. I managed to pull myself out of a disastrous situation (or should I say God pulled me out) and I went on to finish college, achieve success in my career, and was blessed with friends who helped me out along the way. I will always be grateful for them. (Wenona and Rosita, if you're reading this, Thank you!) Although it was a rough period in my life, I have no regrets. Hardship builds character. I realize now that everything happens for a reason. If I had not met my ex and followed him up to Chico State, I would not have met the man I will forever be with.

Life works out no matter what. There's no need to stress out over seemingly unfortunate events because that's the way your life was meant to be.

May You Always Feel Loved

MAY YOU ALWAYS FEEL LOVED

May you find serenity and tranquility in a world
You may not always understand.

May the pain you have known and conflict you have experienced
Give you the strength to walk through life
Facing each new situation with courage and optimism.

Always know that there are those whose love and understanding
Will always be there, even when you feel most alone.

May you discover enough goodness in others
To believe in a world of peace.

May a kind word, a reassuring touch, a warm smile be yours
Every day of your life,
And may you give these gifts as well as receive them.

Remember the sunshine when the storm seems unending.

Teach love to those who know hate,
And let that love embrace you as you go into the world.

May the teaching of those you admire become part of you,
So that you may call upon them.
Remember, those whose lives you have touched
And who have touched yours are always a part of you,
Even if the encounters were less than you would have wished.
It is the content of the encounter that is more important than it's form.

May you not become too concerned with material matters,
But instead place immeasurable value on the goodness in your heart.

Find time in each day to see the beauty and love in the world around you.

Realize that each person has limitless abilities,
But each of us is different in our own way.
What you may feel you lack in one regard
May be more than compensated for in another.
What you feel you lack in the present
May become one of your strengths in the future.

May you see your future as one filled with promise and possibility.
Learn to view everything as a worthwhile experience.

May you find enough inner strength to determine your own worth by yourself,
And not be dependent on another's judgement of your accomplishments.

May you always feel loved.

My Theory of Success

Success, in the dictionary, is defined as, “The achievement of something desired, planned, or attempted.” So why is success in our society defined by the balance in your bank account, the car you drive, or how big your house is? You are successful if you are a lawyer, doctor, or movie actor with a six figure income. You should be able to be called a “success” when you have been able to do anything and everything you have wanted to do in your life. Shouldn’t success be defined as being able to do what your passion is in life? Shouldn’t you be successful when you have achieved complete happiness? Besides money, wealth should include your spiritual, physical and mental well-being.

There are six disciplines I learned during my life which motivated and helped create a well-balanced and successful life for me. These disciplines include: self, spiritual, physical, time, money, and growth.

Self discipline means making decisions regarding your life and having the mind set to follow through with what you want to accomplish. It also means staying focused with the task at hand and holding yourself accountable for your actions. Become proactive in your life, persist, and persevere!

You can have everything in your life, but without spirituality everything can go out the door. God is there to help solve your problems and be your Authority in life. Just five to ten minutes a day meditating and praying in silence can be the difference between a serene life and a chaotic life. Being thankful and grateful for what God has given you can open up more doors, more opportunities, and ultimately, more prosperity in your life.

Something most of us struggle with is physical discipline. I read somewhere that it takes 21 days to turn an action into a habit. Eating right and exercising on a consistent basis not only boosts your energy and helps you live longer, it helps relieve the stresses that everyday life brings.

Time management is important in accomplishing any goal in life. It seems that we never have enough time to do what we want to do. Remember that there is a time and place for everything. There is a time for play and a time for work. Prioritizing tasks and taking small steps each day will lead to success in whatever goals you want to achieve. You must also take time each day to organize your life. Whether it’s cleaning that cluttered bathroom counter, or filing bills, being organized can save you time in the long run.

Sometimes I wish that money did not exist. But it looks like it’s here to stay and we do need it to pay rent and buy food. It took awhile to become disciplined with money. Now I have come to understand the value of the dollar and control excess spending. I have learned to be accountable for every dollar I spend. I have learned to give to charity no matter what my paycheck looks like.

Life is about learning and growing. Growth is developing relationships and lasting bonds with our family and friends and learning from each other. Growth is realizing that we are not perfect, but striving to become the best that we can be. Growth is also realizing that we are capable of doing anything we set our mind to and achieving our goals. God has given us all unique abilities. It’s what we do with those abilities that will determine whether or not we will be successful.

God has blessed me with the opportunities and the talents to do what I have always wanted. Although some of the things I have done did not pay very well, there was the intrinsic reward of being able to make a difference in another person’s life. I felt I was successful in helping another human being and someday they may return the favor.

To become successful requires a little patience. Creating wealth and success in your life can take some time, maybe months or even years. Sweat, tears and agony are part of the process, but well worth it.

Sleeping In Sucks...sometimes

I woke at 12:17 p.m. today. This sleeping in is hurting me in terms of trying to get sh*t done. Phone calls to make...people to see...I don't want to stress over this art auction. I'm helping people and it will turn out the way it's supposed to. Just let go...just let go...

I think we struggle because God wants us to truly appreciate what we have when we finally do get what we want. I feel like 2004 was a huge mountain that I had to climb to get to what's in store for me for 2005. I just know that it's going to be a good year.

Art Auction and Other Thoughts

I spent most of the day working on the upcoming art auction for the Monarch School. I'm very excited for this event as it will be my first art auction that I have ever organized. I'm praying that it goes smoothly. Everything is in place - just need some sponsors.

I feel myself getting closer to God... little by little my fears and doubts are being erased as my faith gets stronger. I'm also learning to narrow my focus even more. I'm emmersing myself in each action and letting go of the overwhelming feelings and scattered thoughts that I have when trying to focus on the task at hand.

Missing my family -- I didn't get to see any of them over the holidays...

Getting Down To Business

Well, I didn't win the lottery... guess I have to bust my *ss this year to make my million. I have no doubt it's going to happen. I can't even get over how excited I am about this year. I have never felt like this before. I feel like I already have the million!

I sat in Barnes & Noble today, my favorite weekly hangout, reading "Think Like A Billionaire"by Donald Trump.
Here are some tips he offered on how to impress anyone in business:
1) Be on Time
2) Do Your Homework
3) Make a Mental Dossier on People
4) Remember People's Names & Small Details About Them
5) Be Honest
6) Let Other People Talk
7) Be Self-Deprecating & Disarming

That's all I have for today --it's time to start creating my million...
