Choices in Life

In a response to my fellow KMM writer's post about choices, I talk about choices in regards to customer service at CustomersAreAlways.com. However, I'd like to expand more on the topic here because in all our daily lives we're constantly faced with choices. Those choices have consequences and influence our mind states and emotional well-being.

What career to pursue, what types of investments to get involved in, what to eat for dinner tonight - the list of choices go on and on. But did you know that you have choice when it comes to having a good and prosperous life? Did you know that you have the choice to be happy or sad? When someone makes you angry, do you rant about that person to everybody you come in contact with? You've made a choice to let that person "work your last nerve". You allowed them to bring you down and put you in that negative state of mind. Yes, YOU made that choice. So be aware of your thoughts and choose to be happy, choose to be positive, and choose to be prosperous!

More Great Thoughts by Seth Godin

Seth Godin has another short, but very thought provoking post :

Belief
People don't believe what you tell them.
They rarely believe what you show them.
They often believe what their friends tell them.
They always believe what they tell themselves.

What are you telling yourself today? Make sure it's good! Think good...you'll do good and be good! It's that simple - Really!

Money Advice From Seth Godin

On the business side of my life, I read Seth Godin's blog quite often. He has a post called "Marketers and Money" with some sound advice that can apply to anyone:

First rule: great product development and marketing almost always comes from organizations that don't have enough money. Having less money keeps you from trying to buy your way out of trouble.

Second rule: learning to live with less money means you will develop skills and resources instead of buying them. And it means that when you have less money (again), you'll be prepared.

Third rule: When you need money for something specific, go get it. But just for that. With good terms. As soon as you spend money to protect your money or leverage your money or account for your money or send a message about your money, the money is not only wasted, it hurts you.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's another money tip:
Whether you are looking for student loans or some other personal loans, make sure to shop around and do your research or else you could get stuck with a high interest loan . Try for a secured one, especially if it is business loans you are looking for.
Progress: Double Your Way to a Million
Dave Mauder asked if I'm going to post my progress on the Double Your Way to a Million program and since I've been getting quite a bit of requests on the program, I think it would be good to do a follow up....
Well, it's been a couple months now since I started and now I am at step #9. It's interesting - now that I am doing this, I've noticed all the money on the ground that I used to never pay attention to! The majority of the money I've come across has been found in random places. I still haven't tried asking people for money, not even 5 cents, but I'm sure it would be a faster way to the next step. I'm just not the type of person to ask for help from other people - especially when it comes to money. Perhaps this could be practice for me.
I would be interested in knowing if anybody out there has attempted to double their way to a million - leave your comments here ;) For those of you interested in knowing more about the program, click here...
Different Perspectives
Life has been quite a roller coaster ride this past month, so forgive me for the lack of posts! Even though I did take a little break from San Diego, I was still sitting in Starbucks everyday doing work! However, I did learn that a change of scenery does wonders for your productivity - at least it does for me anyways.
And pretty soon I will have another change of scenery as a venture into Mexico and take up
residence! I'll only be a fifteen minute drive from the border, so I won't actually be completely cutoff from the luxury of the U.S. Time for me to brush up on my Spanish!
I look forward to this new chapter in my life. It will definitely give me a different perspective of life as I learn a new culture and different pace of life. Although Mexico is considered "Third World", there are so many gems to see and experience in this country. Time to spread some good energy elsewhere ;)
There's some negativity surrounding this move which I won't talk about. Let's just say that it's helping me to practice "true faith" and not letting other's negative opinions sway my decisions. I'm getting better!
What different perspectives are you practicing today?
Quote of the Week
Well, I'm back in the full swing of things with a quote to share:
"A Year of Growing Rich..."
I just opened up the book Napoleon Hill's A Year of Growing Rich - 52 Steps to Achieving Life's Rewards and I can already tell that I'm going to like this book. The second chapter (Week 2) starts of with this:
"The most profound fact concerning humanity is this: The Creator gave us the complete, unchallengeable right of prerogative over one thing, and only one thing - our own mind. It must have been the Creator's purpose to encourage us to live our own lives, to think our own thoughts, without interference from others....
Simply by exercising this profound prerogative over your own mind and life, you may lift yourself to great heights of achievement in any field of endeavor you choose..."
Such wise words and so far a recommended read!
Attracting More Money Into Your Life
There's been quite a few requests for information and tips on how to attract money into your life. Who doesn't want to have more money, eh? It's actually pretty easy - if you put your "mind" to it - because wealth is actually just a state of mind.
Do you constantly worry or stress that you'll never have enough money? Do you always say, "I'm broke", "I can't afford that", or "I'll never have enough money"? Did you know that by making these statements you're actually repelling money away from you? If you know anything about the subconscious mind you know that whatever you say leaves a seed in the mind that grows into whatever you plant in it. So, if you continue to say "I'm broke", your subconscious mind will continue to attract poverty and lack into your life.
The subconscious mind is a powerful thing. It's a neutral entity that believes anything that you say to it. It knows no boundaries and has no limits. Whatever you say or think will always come to pass, therefore it is important to always think "wealth" and "success". If you think about these things, pretty soon you will begin to look and act the part.
There are a few things you can do today to start becoming the prosperous person you are meant to be and attract all the money you wish for:
1) Stop thinking about the lack in your life and start being grateful for all that you have. Think about all the people in this world whose lives are much more unfortunate than yours. When you are more grateful for all blessings, more will flow into your life.
2) Visualize how your life would be if you had all the money to do what you wish. Begin to feel and experience in your mind the feeling of being prosperous. Know in your mind that money will continually flow into your life and never think about "not having enough". When you catch yourself having these thoughts, affirm to yourself "Wealth" or "Prosperity" over and over. In the beginning your conscious may resist these ideas, but keep at it everyday and your poverty thinking will soon begin to fade away. Remember that we are creatures of habit, so the more you do something, the less you'll have to really "think" about it.
3) One of the main reasons why people don't attract what they want in their life is that they're more concerned about the "how" rather than focusing on the end result. Leave it up to the Universe to pave the way for your prosperity. Just have the faith that it will happen for you.
Before I discovered this power to attract prosperity into my life, I was barely making ends meet. Sometimes I would eat Ramen and rice for lunch and dinner and would have to scrounge up ten cents just to buy the Ramen!
But now that I know the "secrets" to a better life, I have been able to more than double my income. I no longer live from paycheck to paycheck and have a steady flow of income in my life. I am now doing only the things that I love to do and making money from what used to be just hobbies. Although it may seem that I'm "working hard", I truly enjoy what I do, so it doesn't really seem like work.
So, start with your passions and truly believe that money will be a constant flow in your life. Remember that when you worry about money, you're sending out the message that you don't have faith in Source. Source gives you everything that you ask for - just be patient and know that it will come!
When Life Throws You Curveballs
There are times in our lives when we wonder "Why is this happening to me? Why me?" I've had my share of moments like these. It's during these times that you must stop asking "Why me?" and start thinking "This too, shall pass."
Believe that there is a blessing behind everything that happens is one of the steps to attracting peace and prosperity into your life. Perhaps your past thoughts have caused your present circumstances, in which case you must get a hold of your thoughts and begin to think more positive. This is much easier said than done, but if you have the intention to become a positive person, the Universe will make it easy for you.
I cannot stress enough how important it is to monitor your thoughts. A simple negative thought can act as poison on the mind and spread viciously through your subconscious. Nourish your mind with thoughts of love, peace, and prosperity and in no time at all you will be as you think!
"Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith."
MARK 11:23
