Bumps in the Road and Making More Money With Blogs

As we go into the last month of the year, I’ve started reflecting on the past year and all the whirlwind events that have happened. It’s been quite a ride and although there have been quite a few bumps in the road, I’ve managed to stay focused on what I want versus what I don’t want - which is one of the keys to manifesting all that you desire in life, right?

An example of one of my “bumps in the road” was that one of my blogging contracts took a little bit of a nosedive in terms of income. They have a new way of conducting business, which I think will turn out to be good in the long run, but it may take a little while for me to get adjusted to the new system of business. Instead of worrying about what I was going to do about maintaining the stream of income that I was used to, I stayed focused and happy. Next thing you know more opportunities to make money started flowing into my life!

One of the opportunities that came to me was PayPerPost.com. If you’re an online internet marketer, you may have heard all the buzz about this company that pays you to review websites and link to companies. There are many critics to this type of online media advertising, however, I think as long as the bloggers remain transparent when sharing information and inform their readers know that their posts are sponsored, then I don’t really see anything wrong with the concept. In fact, I give thanks for the opportunity that will makeup for the lost income from my other blogging contract. That’s what I love the most about PayPerPost.com - get paid to blog!

So, in retrospect, all the bumps in the road turned out to be little ant hills ;) December is going to be a great month!

(By the way, this post is sponsored!)

A Great Resource: Motto Magazine

I spent some time in Borders bookstore today browsing through some business magazines for ideas and resources for articles. Well, one of those magazines is called Motto (formerly Worthwhile) which is a magazine for those entrepreneurs who want to find meaning and purpose in their business....”Work with purpose, passion, and profit” is their motto.

I loooooove this magazine! This magazine is right on point in terms of what I want to do and achieve with my businesses. And guess who was a contributor to this edition of the magazine? A fellow do-good blogger, Curt Rosengren of The Occupational Adventure! It was neat to see a familiar face in a print magazine ;) I was thinking, I know him! (Well, I don’t know, know him - you know what I mean!)

You can subscribe to the magazine by visiting Amazon.com or check out their website:

So, what’s your motto?

A Manifesting Tip From ManifestLife.com

I've subscribed to manifesting tips from ManifestLife.com and received my first tip today. Here's a snippet that I want to share:

"...everything that we desire is already in existence right now. It simply is in an energetic form that may not be materialized. So if what I want is to create, let’s say, a great relationship, that great relationship already exists on a different playing field, on a different level of consciousness, if you were. And let’s use the analogy of an elevator. Let’s say I am on floor three. The relationship that I desire is on floor four. It’s already there. I simply have to get in the elevator, push the button of desire, thought, emotion, belief and expectation, and I will raise my level of consciousness to where I’m now on level four. I open the door."

If you want wealth and happiness, then you have to actually create the emotion of being wealthy and happy. When you become what you want in your life, you are in harmony with your desire and it will manifest itself into your physical reality.

I've known this all along, but it wasn't until today that I came to fully realize it. I can feel my whole body in a state of ecstasy, if you will. Wow! What a great feeling :)

I Went to Earth on Black Friday, But I'm Back

I had a momentary lapse of sanity last night. My boyfriend, his girlfriend and I decided to hit the Gilroy outlets here in Northern Cal to do a little shopping. Apparently the entire population of San Jose had the same idea.

It’s been years since I’ve actually been a shopper on Black Friday. Usually it’s me working and sweating to make customers happy, but I had this wild idea to go shopping for some reason. What came over me, I don’t know....but I stood in line at the Puma outlet for 2 hours and the whole time I’m standing in line I’m thinking, “Is it worth it?” Here I am caught up in the Black Friday madness when it’s me who makes fun of people who do things like this.

The experience did give me perspective and reminded me that material things are only temporary. So, I got out of line. Better things are on the way!

My Experience With "Lightworker Syndrome"

The other night I was reading Steve Pavlina’s blog where he has a post about the Lightworker Syndrome. Once upon a time I experienced this syndrome when I thought that I couldn’t possibly make money doing freelance writing and making jewelry. For a month I worked at Macy’s so I could “pay the bills“, but absolutely hated waking up so early in the morning and simply didn’t like working for anybody else. I wanted to follow my passions. I wanted to live each moment doing something I absolutely loved. So, I did it. I took the plunge and quit the Macy’s job to focus on my writing and jewelry. Well, I haven’t looked back ever since. Now I’m making money doing everything I enjoy, spending more time with family, and truly, truly loving life.

Believe me, it was harder to do than I make it sound. It took a great deal of courage and faith in The Universe. I just had to remember that no matter what I would always be taken care of! But most of all, I believed in myself. I just knew everything would fall into place.

Have you ever experienced Lightworker Syndrome?

Steve offers his advice to overcome it:

“If you consider yourself a lightworker, understand that your real work is to accept and embrace your inner light. You are meant to shine, not to be snuffed out. If you feel that life in this physical universe is dragging you down, it’s because you aren’t yet in vibrational harmony with your light. The more you fear it, the more you’ll attract distracting problems that have little or nothing to do with your purpose. But whenever you’re ready, you can say to the universe, “OK. I’m ready. I’m going to pursue my purpose with all my heart and soul, and you’d better back me up.” Once you make a committed decision, you’ll attract all the help and resources you need. You’ll be shocked at just how easy it is.”

Great Resource: Money, Meaning, and Beyond

I recently discovered Andrea J. Lee's blog, Money, Meaning, and Beyond (via Passion Meets Purpose - thanks!) So I was prompted to subscribe to Andrea's list and thus have been receiving much inspiration the past week!

In today's email, Andrea included a quote that I want to share:
"The world is awash in money! Do you hear what that means? It is
awash in money. It is flowing for everyone. It is like Niagara
Falls. And most of you are showing up with your teaspoons."
-- Abraham-Hicks
Many of us have yet to claim our abundance and prosperity! Do you want to be a person who doesn't think that you deserve to be wealthy and prosperous?

If you found out that The Universe was going to literally drop quarters from the sky like rain, would you show up with a teaspoon? I don't know about you, but I'm coming with a dump truck!

Prosper.com: People Helping People

Business & Personal Loans. Great Rates. Prosper.I recently have come to know about a great website called Prosper.com that helps people get loans. In essence, it's a place for people to obtain a loan through unconventional means - at the same time people can help other people by lending money to them.

A new innovative group on Prosper.com called "Two Millionaires cover High Risk Loans, Restore Credit" is helping ordinary people prosper by providing a way for them to get and pay out a series of small loans at interest rates below 30%. That should move their credit grades from HR high risk to B or better.

In less than a month this unique group attracted almost 200 members, placed 10 loans, and had 50 active listings.

Two Millionaires is helping high risk borrowers who can't attract lenders even in the socially exciting Prosper.com people-to-people marketplace. The goal of the Two Millionaires founders is to help sincere high risk members get to the point where they qualify as Prosper.com lenders and group leaders themselves.

Two Millionaires attracts lenders by offering a large selection of quality listings at high interest rates, and an opportunity to help others.

For more information, click here!

On the top right-hand column of this blog you'll see a little button inviting you to bid on my loan listing! Update: My loan was funded! Thanks for your support ;)

Laughter: Absolutely, No Doubt, the Best Medicine Ever

The Universe must be sensing that I need a good laugh because I came across some hilarious stuff tonight...

First, I come across some videos at YouTube about fashion advice from a gay man’s perspective.

Then I find out about The Amateur Gourmet’s venture to Alain Ducasse’s restaurant. Truly the most creative post I’ve seen yet in the photosphere... [via How to Change the World]

Have you received your dose of laughter today?

Update: Double Your Way to a Million

It’s very early Sunday morning and I’m catching up on my blog readings. I happened upon Double To A Million Plan, which I know I’ve read before, but served as a reminder to me to get an update on my own plan for doubling to a million.

So, I took out the little coin purse that is now bulging at the sides and emptied out all the coins. Four quarters, quite a few dimes, a nickel or two, and tons of pennies. I haven’t given much thought to my own “doubling”. You know, life gets in the way. However, the other day I did start thinking about it again and whaddaya know, I start to find pennies everywhere ;)

I’m currently in the middle of Step 10 with $3.19. It’s taken just over five months to get this far. Basically every coin I have has been found in random places. However, I’m now brainstorming some ideas on how to get to the $5 mark....Taking in my recycleables isn't such a bad idea!

Update 11/6:
I forgot to include previous links on the Double Your Way to a Million Plan...

Dr. Ilenya Martin of Loving Your Success Blog and Power of Personal Peace recently announced a new feature on her website called “Ask Dr. Ilenya” where you can submit questions regarding issues in your life. If she selects and responds to your letter, it will be posted at her website.
