Are You a Little Engine?
Just like Priscilla, I cringe when I hear the word "can't". However, that's not to say that I haven't slipped up and said the word myself. For example, one day I was watching my friend's little three-year-old put together a puzzle made of wood blocks. Well, after he finished putting the snail puzzle together, he told me that he wanted to stand it up.
"I don't know if it will stand up. You can't do it. The puzzle will fall apart."
Certainly not something you say to a child, but nonetheless, I said it without giving any thought to the actual words. How dare I say that!
Well, five minutes later...The snail is standing up! That'll show me!!
Can you count how many times you've said the word can't? Well, it's time to take that word out of your vocabulary! You're setting yourself up for failure if you say it!
Right before I started writing up this post I was eating lunch and staring outside the window. Oh, it's a beautiful day! It's a clear blue sky and I could see the birds fluttering around from tree to tree. A gentle breeze blew the leaves of the palm trees....and I looked up into the sky and had this zen moment. I thought about how big The Universe is - much bigger than I was probably imagining - but big nonetheless. I also thought about all the possibilities out there...endless possibilities. Anything can happen at any given moment of the day.

So, when you say the word "can't", you are in essence shutting off all those possibilities! If you need a little refresher on this, I highly recommend reading that old childhood classic, The Little Engine That Could!
