Attracting Abundance With a Blog

Blogging -- What Jolly Fun! on FlickrThere's one thing I always encourage people to do if they want to attract money and abundance online: Start a blog.

I've probably said this before, but I'll say it again: Now more than ever is a great time to make money online. I'm very passionate about this and I wish everyone could realize how easy it really is!

For those of you who don't know, a blog is basically an online journal where you post articles, videos, and/or pictures. What you're reading right now actually is a "blog post".

When I first started this blog over five years ago, I just wanted to share random thoughts and inspiration. The original name was "Just My Thoughts" before I changed it to "The Good Life". It was just a way for me to express myself and to keep an online journal. I didn't really have any goals or even gave any thought on how I could create abundance with a blog.

The Good Life for me is being able to work from home and being able to do what I love...and what I love to do is write and blog. Because of my blogs I have met so many inspiring and positive people. Because of blogging I have attracted abundance like tickets to concerts, invites to fashion events, free beauty product samples, Audi cars, and so much more. Because of blogging, I've become a freelance writer and created a business providing businesses with online content and marketing services.

All of this started with the thought, "Oh, wouldn't it be nice to make money from writing!"

Even if you don't like to write or you don't consider yourself a "writer" per se, there are still other ways to share content such as videos (vlog) or photos (photo blog).

If you have a passion for food and cooking, you could share links to favorite recipes you come across online or you could share photos of a dish at your favorite restaurant. If you're a mother who stays at home with kids, you could share parenting tips and document your kids' childhood with a blog.

I believe that we're all experts at something, so why not share that passion with the world and attract abundance while you're at it?

I'm always asked how I make money with my blogs, so I thought I'd share some of my sources of income:
  • Advertising  - Most of my blogs have Google Adsense ads.  When people click on these ads, I get paid.  I also sell text link ads whereby companies pay me a monthly or yearly fee for a link on my blog.
  • Sponsored Reviews - Companies pay me to write a review of their products or services.  For instance, I go through a website called SponsoredReviews.com to bid on paid reviews.  There are new rules and ethics for bloggers who are doing sponsored or paid reviews, so make sure to educate yourself before venturing into this arena.
  • Affiliate Programs - Many businesses will pay you a commission for selling their products or services on your blog or website.  For example, if I write a review of a book on my blog, I'll include a link to the book on Amazon.  As an affiliate of Amazon I make a commission whenever someone purchases a book or anything else from the site.
If you're thinking about starting a blog, I'd love to help you!  I offer one-on-one mentoring including help with set-up and designing your blog.  Contact me via email:  info [at] mariapalma [dot] com.

If you're already a blogger, I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences with blogging and monetizing a blog.  Leave a comment!

Jerry Gladstone:  An Inspiring Story

One of my missions in life is to help and inspire people to be the best that they can be. That's one of the main reasons why I started the Studio 747 Blogtalk Radio Show.  I believe that each and every one of us has the power within us to achieve everything that our heart desires.

As I continue on this path of abundance and prosperity, I've come across many like-minded people who have the same mission.  Jerry Gladstone is one such person.

Today I got my daily dose of inspiration as I learned more about Jerry and the work that he does...

Recently Jerry Gladstone announced The Common Thread Project, a project that, according to his blog, "was created to provide people with the power to empower themselves and to give back to the community".  Jerry is putting together a book called "The Common Thread" which will highlight famous people who have had to overcome adversities and obstacles on their journeys to success.

Visit Jerry Gladstone's Common Thread website to find out more about his project.

What I find inspiring about Jerry is that at the age of 26 he was able to take $2,000 and build American Royal Arts, a company that has now grown into a leader and authority in entertainment fine art.  You can find out more about Jerry's company by reading American Royal Arts news.

Are you inspired by Jerry's story?  What can you do today to reach your full potential?
