The Time Abundance Mindset

Big Bear Lake
Big Bear:  A Place Where Time Stands Still

This past weekend I spent most of the time on the couch relaxing and watching basketball games. I felt guilty for about two seconds, but I had to remind myself that I worked all week, so what's two days of doing nothing?!

I really reveled in this relaxation mode...and I thought about all those years that I worked on weekends and how I wished I could just veg out on the couch. Nowadays I could just relax on the couch everyday if I really wanted to.

One of the greatest blessings of being able to work at home is that I can dictate how my time is spent. I really value the time that I have to be able to do whatever I want whenever I want. I can go to the movies during the day and do my work at night...or I can sleep in until noon and start my day at 1 pm.

One of the things I do struggle with is getting into a "Time Abundance Mindset". I have this nagging belief that I never have any time to do everything that I want to do, which leaves me feeling overwhelmed and tired. That ongoing "To Do" list keeps getting longer and longer. I sometimes forget that I have The Universal Manager who can help attract all the help and resources I need to get everything done.

During my session with Stephanie Tran today, she guided me through a visualization exercise in which I thought back to a time when I felt truly joyful, carefree, light, and in the moment. The last time I really experienced that was last year when I took a trip with my fiance to Big Bear. Being around nature and taking in the beautiful scenery was such a wonderful feeling. I felt like time stood still while we were there.  The visualization exercise really helped get me back into that feeling of relaxation and excitement of being free...

I am grateful for articles like The Abundance of Time that remind us that time is indeed limitless...and that we should just enjoy the moment...now.

5 Ways to Attract Money Today

massive yard sale
Maybe you’re in a money pinch and you need to attract money pronto - like today. In this post I will offer a few ideas to help you out. Some of these I’ve done before, so they can work! Even if you don’t use any of these ideas, it will at least get the ball rolling and get your mind focused on attracting even more ideas.

Post an ad on Craigslist, Facebook, or Twitter offering a service - Maybe you can be a taxi-cab for someone who doesn’t have a car or if you’re a good organizer, post an ad offering your organizing services…or maybe you can be a last-minute babysitter. I’m sure there’s something you’re good at that you can offer as a service. Who knows, it may actually turn into a full-blown business! Sidenote: If you’re posting on Facebook or Twitter, make sure you let people know that you’re offering the service for your local area.

Sell that bike, computer, designer purse, or any other high-end item that’s collecting dust - If you haven’t used it in 6 months, maybe it’s time to let it go. There are stores or consignment shops that will buy old, non-working computers, electronic items, video games, or even refrigerators.

Have a yard sale - If you live in an area with lots of traffic, then you might want to gather all that junk in your attic or basement and have a yard sale. If not, maybe there’s a flea market or swap meet going on today in your area that you can sell your stuff at.

Get a job at a temp agency - Some employment agencies have clients who need people for one-day gigs. I did this once during college and ended up working as a blackjack dealer at a fundraising event. I didn’t really know what I was doing, but it was all for fun anyway!

Get an online cash advance - If posting ads, doing any kind of labor, or selling your stuff doesn’t sound appealing, there are payday lenders online that can give you a cash advance within an hour. Keep in mind that you have to pay back these loans on your next payday, so borrow wisely!

Do you have any other ideas to attract money today?

Abundance Manifestations: Day 3

Pennies Found on the Ground
This is my third day of journaling about focusing on and manifesting abundance, and today did not disappoint...

My first stop today was the post office where I had to buy stamps. I didn't ask for any stamp in particular, so the lady gave me stamps with the word "LOVE" on them. As soon as I saw them, I immediately felt all warm and fuzzy inside. Who says you need a husband (or wife!) when you can have The Universe sending you love via a stamp?

Next stop was Starbucks where I did some work on a project for a client. I was wearing my new Boston Celtics t-shirt, so a man walked up to me and asked if I was a Celtics fan. I told him "Yes", so he proceeded to entertain me with an interesting Lakers/Celtics story. A little while later another man started a lively conversation with me about the New York Knicks. It was fun to talk basketball and I got a few good laughs out of those brief connections. Those laughs put me in an even better mood for the rest of the day.

The cloudy skies we had in the morning cleared up in the afternoon, so I went for a walk through the neighborhood...and found two pennies in the road. Later tonight I found another penny in the parking lot of the grocery store. I haven't found money on the ground in awhile!

The flow of money didn't stop there, though. I was able to secure at least four new advertisers for my blogs. Last night before I went to bed, I was thinking, "I want more advertisers. It would be nice to have more advertising revenue." Even though I've done this numerous times in the past, it still ceases to surprise me when I do get more money "out of the blue".  That's why I always recommend setting intentions at night before going to bed and/or first thing in the morning when you wake up.

I also received a ton of ideas today on what I would do with $312 million, which is the California Mega-Million Jackpot!  I already have a list of things I would do, but I added even more projects to that list.  My mind expanded so much as I kept thinking of all the people I could help and the places I could visit.  For a brief moment I had the mind of Oprah :)

How about you?  What abundance has flowed into your life today?  Feel free to share via comments!

4 Manifestations of Abundance

Abundance of Roma Tomatoes

Yesterday, I talked about tuning into abundance and being more aware of the manifestations of abundance.

Well, today I woke up with the expectation of receiving more abundance in my life. I think that made a huge difference in what did manifest today. I didn't have that feeling of maybe it will happen or maybe it won't. Today I knew that good things were going to come my way.

The first thing I noticed was a group of egrets gathered on the lake outside our house. They're beautiful, tall white birds that look so peaceful just hanging out on the lake. I often see one or two together, but usually no more than two. Today I saw seven of them all at once!

The second sign of abundance came in the way of an email from a client.  The company is a fashion brand and I actually hadn't heard from them in a few months because the owner was overseas working on a new collection.  The work I was doing for them represented a nice chunk of my income, so when the owner was gone, I basically was out of work.

So I get an email from the project manager today telling me that they're done with their latest collection and they want me to help them again.  It's interesting because just about an hour before I got that email I was thinking about that company wondering how everything was going.

The third abundance manifestation I want to share is this video I came across on YouTube.  I was feeling a little uninspired to write, but this self-hypnosis session for creativity helped to stimulate my mind and gave me a little energy boost...

Today I also decided not to go with a "To Do" list and just go with the flow. I think I may stay with this plan because I felt alot more relaxed and less tense than I have been feeling lately. I'm beginning to trust more that whatever I "need" to do will be brought to mind when it's time to be done. Instead of having this "To Do" list staring at me and not allowing me to focus, I can be in the moment and put all my energy into what is in front of me. So, in essence, I have an abundance of energy now. I didn't realize that this long list of things to do was the reason why I was feeling so out of balance last week.

The more I write about these manifestations of abundance, the more excited I feel about what's ahead for the rest of the week.  How much better can it get?

Stay tuned tomorrow!

Tuning Into Abundance

Green Leaves

Tall TreesI went for a walk today...and as I passed by a neighbor's house, I noticed that some of the plants in their yard had grown new leaves. The leaves were a very beautiful bright green color and just glistened in the sunlight.

As I continued my walk I began to notice all the variety of pretty flowers in bloom. I even took note of these tall trees that I never saw before.

With the spring season already here, you probably have noticed signs of new growth too.

It made me think about the abundance that comes into our lives. It shows up in little ways at first, but the more we focus on this goodness, the more we start to notice all the other abundance around us.

Spring BloomsMaybe you find a quarter on the ground, a retail clerk gives you an unexpected discount, or better yet, you are offered the "perfect" business opportunity. This abundance can be in the form of money, however, it can come in many other ways too.

I like this idea of documenting all the good things I've noticed, so over the next week I will post everyday and share my adventures in attracting more abundance :) Hopefully it will inspire you to keep your own abundance journal and be more aware of all the abundance around you.

3 Ways to Get Rid of Negative Thoughts and Limiting Beliefs

The other day I had a conversation with someone who told me that she was having a hard time getting rid of negative thoughts. I know that this is a common problem for many people, so I thought I'd share some of the ways I've been able to get rid of limiting beliefs and the endless chatter in your mind that stops you from taking action on your dreams.

I'll admit that I still have some work to do in this area. I have my days when I catch those negative thoughts floating around in my mind. However, they have become few and far between because I began practicing positive thoughts (among other things) consistently.

The key word here is practice. I'm not going to tell you that you're going to change overnight - especially if you have had limiting beliefs for many years. In my case, I had beliefs that went back as far as 10-years-old, if not younger.

Now I've implemented a practice of these three things to get rid of negative thoughts/energy:

1.  I listen to Abraham-Hicks  - Do a search for "Abraham-Hicks" on YouTube and you'll come across a myriad of videos.  The bottom-line message that Abraham-Hicks teaches is:  Get into "The Vortex" and then do what you need to do.  What she means is to get happy.  Go into a place of feeling better.  When I listen to Abraham-Hicks, especially her money rampage, I feel so good.

Of course, there are many other inspirational speakers out there who you can listen to in order to feel more inspired. I also love to listen to Wayne Dyer speak.  I've been to two of his seminars which were phenomenal.  You can find him on YouTube too.  If you're on Twitter you can also follow him (@drwaynewdyer) for inspirational tweets.

2.   I listen to subliminal or hypnosis recordings - What many people don't know is that the subconscious mind is very powerful.  My way of looking at it is that the subconscious mind is "where God resides".  Whatever you feed your subconscious mind fuels your thoughts and actions.

I've built up a huge playlist of mp3s that I listen to everyday before I go to bed and first thing when I wake up.  Most of the mp3s I have are about attracting abundance, but you can find a mp3 on just about any topic.  One of the recent additions to my playlist is Billionaire Mind Subliminal Money Attraction (feat. Music By Kevin Macleod). Real Subliminal has a nice library of mp3s and you can get 20% off any of their programs in the "Law of Attraction" range. [Coupon code: NEWLOA1009].

3.   I use EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) - I just started implementing this as a practice this past year when I met Stephanie Tran.  EFT may seem weird at first (tapping on your body gets rid of negative energy and limiting beliefs?!), but I've always said, "Don't knock it til you try it."

One of my friends who went through depression and sometimes has episodes of anxiety did not believe me when I told her that EFT would help her.  For months I told her about my positive experiences as a result of EFT, but she just recently told me that she didn't really believe that it would work for her....until she finally tried it out.  Now she's raving about how much better she feels.

Prime Example of What Happens When You Don't Clear Negative Energy

It's interesting that I would write this post today because I had a very challenging day that involved a great deal of negativity.  Now that I reflect back, I actually did not do my morning ritual of listening to uplifting audios because I overslept a little and had to get on a teleconference.  Right before I got on the call someone calls me and I answer thinking it was going to be a quick conversation.  Well, to make a long story short, I end up in an argument with this person.

Although I didn't let the conversation bother me too much (at least I didn't think it did), I could feel that my body was tense throughout the day...and I ended up snapping at my fiance. Then I fell behind on my "To Do" list for the day...

As you can see, negative energy can spiral out of control.

I think that after I had the argument on the phone this morning, I should have meditated and gone through my regular morning ritual. That would have put me in a better mood and cleared that negativity.  Instead, I went through the day in a somewhat ok mood.

So, this is what works for me...

There are many other things you can do to get rid of negative thoughts like keeping a gratitude journal or writing down positive affirmations.  These are just the three things I've been doing that works for me.  If you do implement these techniques, I'd love to know how they're working for you.

Do you have any other tips to get rid of negative thoughts?

What You Focus On Expands

This past week I've had people visit this blog after doing a search for "How do I attract money when I'm focused on debt?" After years of studying the Law of Attraction and listening to Abraham-Hicks, what I've learned boils down to five words:

What you focus on expands.

If you want more money in your life, but you're focused on debt, then guess what? You're going to attract more debt. There's no way that you can be more abundant when you're giving off vibes of lack.

Instead of stressing out about how you're going to pay your bills, focus and be grateful for what you do have. I know, it's easier said than done. When you've been conditioned so long to feel and think a certain way, it can be a challenge to break that habit. It becomes even a greater challenge when you watch the news and hear about all the doom and gloom of the financial markets and how the price of gas keeps increasing. Then you have friends and family who complain about money being "tight".

Focusing on what you do want versus what you don't want takes discipline. It's a matter of being aware of how you're feeling when the subject of money comes up. If you're feeling frustrated or down, then you have to begin thinking better-feeling thoughts. Also, when people around you are talking about their "struggles" with money, that's the time to change the subject or excuse yourself from the conversation.

In essence, you're going to have to reprogram your mind. For years the broken record that's been playing, "I have no money" has to be thrown away and replaced with a shiny new record that says, "I am abundant and prosperous. Money flows to me easily and effortlessly."

For more thoughts on this subject, including things I've done to create an abundance mindset, I recommend reading a past post: Don't Eliminate Your Debt, Attract Abundance. You may also want to check out my recently updated Squidoo lens: How to Attract Money.
