Imagination vs Knowledge

Door opening up to the sky
“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.” -Albert Einstein

Yes, I do agree that imagination is more important than knowledge. It is imagination that helps put you in that feel-good state. When you close your eyes and imagine all the possibilities - all the things you can do and all the people you can help - you feel really good. You open my eyes with a big smile on your face. Then those good vibes attract even more positive and goodness into your life.

We could take this a step further and say that the combination of knowledge plus imagination will propel us to even greater heights and achieve things much more easily. Knowledge and imagination empowers you even more.

It's one thing to have knowledge, but what you do with that knowledge will determine how successful you are and how far you will get in your spiritual advancement.

Intellectually I know the principles of the Law of Attraction and I have learned the wisdom of the spiritual teachers before me, but if I don't practice what they teach, then I just stay stuck in the same realm of reality. In this case, knowledge is not enough.

As someone who loves to read, I love acquiring knowledge. I like researching and knowing how things work. I attended college to learn about different subjects and to “expand my horizons”. The beauty of having free will is that we could choose to learn whatever we want. You could choose to get an information technology degree, learn about holistic medicine, or study financial investments and CFA prep. Whatever you choose to do, you can do it and be successful if you’re passionate and love what you do. Just doing what you love is action enough.

If you’re not in a place where you’re doing work that you don’t exactly enjoy, then some would even say that just imagining doing the work that gives you meaning and fulfills your purpose is enough. Maybe visualizing and imagination is enough to manifest your desires, but I also believe that having a little knowledge and taking a little action doesn’t hurt.

I don’t really know where I’m going with this post, but these are just some thoughts about knowledge and imagination that have been brewing in my mind ever since I first read that quote about Einstein and his philosophy about imagination. I do know and understand that our minds are very powerful. I still have yet to fully comprehend what Einstein meant about “imagination embraces the entire world”, but all I know is that it’s a good thing, and I think that’s all that matters. In due time it will come to me!
