Book Review: Sound Health, Sound Wealth

Sound Wealth, Sound Health book coverWhen many of us think of the word “wealth” we think of money, big houses, fancy cars, and the type of lifestyle led by celebrities and dignitaries. But did you know that wealth can also mean having fulfilling relationships, being happy, and having sound health? Luanne Oakes helps us explore and discover our own definition of wealth in her book, Sound Health Sound Wealth: The Biology of Hope and Manifestation.

Through her life experiences and examples, Luanne offers tips and exercises so that we can make our lives better every day in every way. I learned such things as the Principle of Resonance which is “perfect oneness with the Source of All Creation” and the concept of Future Memories which are goals and dreams that you experience through your Body, Mind, and Spirit.

Much of what I read in the book was nothing new to me in regards to the concepts of “thoughts become things” and “living in the moment”, however, there was a part of the book that fascinated me where the author talks about sound and light and how they provide a path to healing our bodies. Sound Health, Sound Wealth will really make you think about the subtleties of life and how everything that you think and everything that happens to you affects you at the cellular level.

What I Like About Sound Health, Sound Wealth

My favorite chapter of the book was chapter five where the author talks about The Principle of Transforming Time. I often think about time and how the concept came about. Many of us complain that there is never any time to do anything or there just isn’t enough time in the day to accomplish our goals.

I like this line from chapter five:
“When you Make a Decision and intend to change your relationship with time, it is increasingly possible to string transcendent moments together like a beautiful and exotic strand of pearls.”
What’s fascinating to me is that our perception of time changes at any given moment of the day. When you’re doing something you love time appears to go by fast and then when you’re doing something you dread (like being in a job you hate!) time seems to go by soooo slow.

Many of us are in such a rush to get where we want to be that we believe that isn’t any time to do anything. We believe that we need to accomplish all these things in order to be successful, so quantity takes precedence over quality. However, if you change the “there’s no time” belief into a “there’s plenty of time” belief, you’ll start to discover that there is indeed time to do everything that you want to do.

True Wealth quoteBook Bonus:

Sound Health, Sound Wealth comes with a Frequency Treatment CD that helps you get into a more relaxed mood. I like to listen to it while I’m cleaning the house or taking a little snooze in the middle of the day.

Thumbs Up!

Would I recommend reading Sound Health, Sound Wealth? Definitely! It’s not your typical self-help book. This book will really make you delve deeper into the recesses of your mind and think more about life on a metaphysical level. It will make you realize what true wealth is!

How To Regain Your Energy and Natural Vitality

As I get older I'm starting to notice that I don't quite have the energy I had when I was in my 20's. Back then I was going to college full time, working as a store manager full time, and I still made time to party about three times a week! However, that's all I changed...but I realized that it doesn't have to be this way. I could regain that energy back with a few consistent actions. Here's what I've been doing to stay energized and revitalized:

Meditating1. Meditation. Meditating every morning and night has helped tremendously in my energy levels. Even during the day as I sit in front of the computer I will take 5 minutes to do a deep breathing exercise. I close my eyes and as I breathe in, I say to myself, "I am now breathing in positive energy..."

2. Exercise. I used to exercise everyday when I was in my 20's, but now it's more like 3 times a week. Even a walk around the block is enough to get the blood circulating and keep me energized. You'll notice a change in your attitude when you exercise!

3. Eat right. Get good portions of vegetables and fruits - organic is best!

4. Take vitamins. I found out about this website, Choice Nutritionals, that offers Natural Vitality vitamins and organic essential oils that dissolves energy blocks.

What do you do to stay energized?

A Healthy Life is a Wealthy Life

weight scaleTo live a long and prosperous life means that you must keep your mind and body healthy. We hear so many stories nowadays about people with cancer and people who suffer heart attacks because of poor diet.

One of my exercise goals is to work out at least three times a week. Not only is exercise a good way to keep my body slim, but it also gives me energy which increases my productivity. I also feel happier!

So many people go on diets to lose weight, which is fine, but I think a diet must go hand-in-hand with a good exercise program. But then, I've also heard of people who just use positive affirmations along with exercise to keep the weight off. I think it's possible to go that route as well.

Are you someone who can't seem to keep the weight off? Here are a couple things that I've done to keep myself healthy:

1. Post reminders around the house to exercise. Thank God for Post Its!
2. I browse through Health Magazine for education on things I can do to stay healthy
3. I say positive affirmations like: I am happy and healthy or I stay slim and trim.

I've never considered going through a weight loss program, but if you are you may be interested in this website where you can review Medifast, Nutrisystem and other weight loss diet programs . I like the article on the website that explains why diets often fail. Here's a profound thought from the article: "For diets to work, they must be part of larger lifestyle changes, and they cannot be off and on. Successful diets are usually the least radical ones."

If I could give just one piece of advice who want to lose weight and live a healthier and longer life, it would be this: Take it one day at a time. Take baby steps. Don't try to lose 10 pounds in a week if you don't believe its possible. Start with 2 pounds a week and go from there. Go with smaller, achievable steps and once you've done that and have built up confidence, go with bigger goals.

Always remember: A healthy life is a wealthy life!

Meditation and Deep Breathing For an Abundant and Healthy Life

What I have found to be the best preventative medicine and an overall way to live a healthy life is meditation, or deep breathing. I believe that I haven't had a cold or been sick in three years because of the daily practice of meditation. As a matter of fact, I haven't even been to the doctor in I don't know how long! People say that you should go to the doctor for yearly checkups just to make sure you don't "have something", but I trust that the meditation that I do is good enough to fight any of the negative energy that may have crept into my body. Besides, I feel that sometimes it's just better that you don't know. It's in knowing that causes more worry - which isn't good for the disease. If I think I'm healthy at all times, then it will be so...

The air we breathe is the life force that provides us with the "medicine" and energy to survive. When we cut ourselves on the finger or get a scrape on the skin, eventually that wound heals, right? It's that same energy that can heal the inside of your body as well.

Here's a simple tip for deep breathing during meditation...

1. Picture yourself as a balloon, inhale, and feel yourself expand
2. Hold it for about 3 seconds
3. Breathe out slowly, feel yourself deflate and relax like a balloon

This is an exercise that I would recommend to someone - especially one who is suffering from mesothelioma. Having to talk to mesothelioma attorneys or mesothelioma lawyers, plus having to mentally deal with this cancer can put the body in a state of stress. If you live in the state of Illinois, make sure you have an Illinois mesothelioma lawyer who can make it a more peaceful process.
